George Kenneth "Trey" Griffey III was born on January 19, 1994. He is a former American football player who played as a wide receiver. Trey played college football for the University of Arizona. He is also the son of Major League Baseball (MLB) legend Ken Griffey Jr., who is in the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Trey Griffey's Early Football Career
Trey Griffey went to Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando, Florida. During his senior year, he was a very successful player. He caught the ball 73 times for a total of 970 yards. He also scored 11 touchdowns. After high school, Trey decided to play college football at the University of Arizona.
Playing for the Arizona Wildcats
Trey started his college career at Arizona in 2012. He spent his first year as a "redshirt" player, which means he practiced with the team but did not play in games. This allowed him to gain experience without using up a year of his playing eligibility.
In 2013, Trey played in 11 games and started in four of them. He caught 14 passes for 170 yards and scored two touchdowns. The next year, as a sophomore in 2014, he played in all 14 games. He started two games and had 31 catches for 405 yards, scoring one touchdown. As a junior, Trey played in only six games because of an injury. Despite the injury, he still managed to catch 11 passes for 284 yards and one touchdown.
Trey Griffey's Professional Football Career
Trey Griffey was not chosen in the 2017 NFL draft. However, he still got a chance to play professionally.
Time with the Indianapolis Colts
On May 4, 2017, Trey signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent. This means he joined the team even though he wasn't drafted. On June 12, he was placed on injured reserve by the Colts. He was later released from injured reserve on July 7.
Playing for the Miami Dolphins
On August 15, 2017, Trey Griffey signed with the Miami Dolphins. He was with the team for a short time before being released on September 2.
Joining the Pittsburgh Steelers
On January 29, 2018, Trey signed a contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was released by the Steelers on September 1, but he was re-signed to their practice squad the very next day. A practice squad is a group of players who train with the team but are not on the main roster. On January 1, 2019, Trey signed another contract with the Steelers. He was released by the team on August 31, 2019.
