Trifolium beckwithii is a type of clover plant. It is commonly known as Beckwith's clover. This plant is a wild flower found in parts of North America. Like other clovers, it has leaves with three parts.

Where Beckwith's Clover Grows

Beckwith's clover is found naturally in the western United States. You can see it in states like northeastern California, Oregon, Nevada, and Utah. It also grows further north in Montana and South Dakota.

This plant likes to live in certain places. It grows in yellow pine forests and red fir forests. You can also find it in mountain meadows. It especially likes wet areas near rivers or streams, which are called wetlands or riparian areas.

What Beckwith's Clover Looks Like

Beckwith's clover is a plant that lives for many years. It grows upright, meaning it stands tall. Most of its leaves grow from the bottom of the plant. However, one pair of leaves grows higher up on the stem.

Each leaf is made of smaller oval-shaped parts called leaflets. These leaflets can be up to 4 centimeters (about 1.5 inches) long. The plant also has large stipules, which are small leaf-like parts at the base of the leaf stem.

The flowers of Beckwith's clover grow in a cluster. This cluster is called an inflorescence or a flower head. Each flower head is about 2 to 3 centimeters (about 1 inch) wide. The flowers themselves can be pink, purplish, or even two colors. As the flowers get older, they tend to hang down on the flower head.
