Trincomalee District (Tamil: திருகோணமலை மாவட்டம் Tirukŏṇamalai Māvaṭṭam; Sinhala: තිරිකුණාමළය දිස්ත්‍රික්කය) is a special part of Sri Lanka. It is one of the 25 main areas called districts. These districts help organize the country. The main city and capital of this district is Trincomalee.

Trincomalee District is located on the eastern side of Sri Lanka. It is part of the Eastern Province. The district covers an area of about 2,727 square kilometers (1,053 square miles).
