Trisha Krishnan (born on May 4, 1983) is a famous Indian actress. She is best known for her work in Tamil and Telugu movies. Trisha is one of the highest-paid actresses in India. She has been a successful leading actress for more than 20 years in Tamil cinema.

Trisha became well-known after winning the 1999 Miss Chennai beauty pageant. This helped her start her career in movies. People often call her the "Queen of South India." She has won many awards. These include five Filmfare Awards South, a Tamil Nadu State Film Award, and a Nandi Award.

She started with a small role in the Tamil movie Jodi (1999). Her first main role was in Mounam Pesiyadhe (2002). Trisha became very popular with hit movies like Saamy (2003), Ghilli (2004), Aaru (2005), and Unakkum Enakkum (2006) in Tamil. Early Life and Education

Trisha Krishnan was born on May 4, 1983, in Madras, Tamil Nadu. Her parents were Krishnan Iyer and Uma Iyer. She went to Sacred Heart Matriculation School in Chennai. Later, she studied Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) at Ethiraj College for Women in Chennai.

Before acting, Trisha worked as a model. She appeared in many ads for print and TV. In 1999, she won the "Miss Salem" and "Miss Chennai" beauty pageants. She also won the "Beautiful Smile" award at the Miss India 2001 pageant.

Trisha first wanted to become a criminal psychologist. She was not sure about acting because she wanted to finish her studies. In 2000, she was in a music video for Falguni Pathak. Later, director Priyadarshan offered her a role in the Tamil film Lesa Lesa (2003). This was the start of her acting career. She had a busy schedule while in college but managed by taking summer classes.

Her first movie in 2023 was the sequel Ponniyin Selvan: II, where she played Kundavai again. She also starred in The Road (2023) and the highly anticipated film Leo (2023). Leo became one of the highest-earning South Indian films of 2023.

In 2024, her movie Ghilli was re-released for its 20th anniversary. It became one of the highest-earning Indian film re-releases. Her web series Brinda also premiered in August 2024, where she played a police officer. She also had a special dance appearance in the film The Greatest of All Time.

Personal Life

Trisha lives in Chennai with her mother and grandmother. Her father passed away in October 2012. She can speak Tamil, English, Hindi, and French. She follows a vegetarian diet.

Her mother, Uma Krishnan, often joins Trisha at film shoots and events. Uma Krishnan has been offered acting roles herself but chose to focus on supporting Trisha's career. Trisha has said that her mother is her "pillar of strength" and has always supported her.

In 2015, Trisha was engaged to entrepreneur Varun Manian, but the engagement was later called off. She was also in a relationship with Rana Daggubati in the late 2010s, after being friends for many years. They remain friends.
