Tristan Rogers, born on June 3, 1946, is an actor from Australia. He is famous for his role as Robert Scorpio in the TV show General Hospital. He also voiced Jake the kangaroo mouse in the Disney movie The Rescuers Down Under. Tristan Rogers is still playing Robert Scorpio on General Hospital today.
Rogers was born in Melbourne, Australia. He started acting on Australian television. He had short roles in TV shows like Bellbird, Number 96 in 1974, and The Box in 1975. He was also a regular in the police drama The Link Men in 1970. He appeared in other shows such as Barrier Reef and Division 4. In the early 1970s, he also acted in a few British films.

Tristan Rogers' Roles in the United States
Playing Robert Scorpio in General Hospital
Tristan Rogers first appeared on General Hospital in December 1980. He played the character Robert Scorpio until February 1992. Robert Scorpio became very popular, especially because of his connection to the famous TV couple Luke and Laura. Their wedding in 1981 was watched by 30 million people. It is still the most-watched hour in American soap opera history.
When Rogers left the show in 1992, his character Robert Scorpio was thought to be gone forever. However, Rogers returned briefly in 1995 as Scorpio's spirit. He came back to comfort his daughter, Robin Scorpio, who was going through a tough time.
Rogers returned to General Hospital again in January 2006. This time, Robert Scorpio was alive and well! He stayed for six weeks and then reappeared in April 2006, leaving again in November.
From August to October 2008, Rogers played Robert Scorpio on General Hospital: Night Shift. This was a special show that was a spin-off of General Hospital. It focused on Scorpio's daughter, Robin. Rogers was in 12 of the 14 episodes. Soap Opera Digest magazine called his return the "Best Return" of 2008. Rogers also came back to General Hospital for four episodes in December 2008 for Robin's wedding.
Rogers returned to General Hospital as Robert Scorpio on February 29, 2012. His character was called back to Port Charles by Anna Devane. She needed to tell him that their daughter, Robin, had been in an accident. After seven episodes, he left again on March 8, 2012. Rogers later returned to the show on November 15, 2012, but left again in December.
He came back on October 4, 2013, when his on-screen daughter returned. However, it was announced in November 2013 that he would leave to go back to another show, The Young and the Restless. His last appearance was on January 30, 2014.
Rogers returned to General Hospital as Robert Scorpio on December 17, 2015. At the same time, he was also playing Colin on The Young and the Restless. He left General Hospital on February 2, 2016, but briefly returned later that year.
Rogers returned to General Hospital in April 2018 for a new storyline. He helped Anna Devane find her long-lost son, Henrik Faison. After leaving on June 1, 2018, he returned again from July to September for another story. In 2019, he came back to the show on January 25 and has been on the show regularly since then.
Other Notable Acting Roles
Rogers joined the cast of The Young and the Restless on December 8, 2010. He played the character Colin Atkinson. He was a main actor on the show starting in February 2011. However, his character was written out of the show in October 2011. He did return to the role briefly in 2012.
Tristan Rogers also starred in a short film called Opportunity Knocks. He voiced Jake the kangaroo mouse in the Disney movie The Rescuers Down Under. He also lent his voice to the 2015 video game, Mad Max.
From 1997 to 1998, Rogers played a bar owner named Harry in Fast Track. This show was about stock car racing. Since 2010, Rogers has also been in the online show The Bay as Lex Martin. In 2019, he played Doc in the Amazon show Studio City. For this role, he won an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Digital Drama Series.
He has also done voice-over work for many companies. These include Outback Steakhouse, Foster's Lager, Reebok, and Epson.
Tristan Rogers' Personal Life
Tristan Rogers has been married to Teresa Parkerson since May 21, 1995. They have two children: a daughter named Sara Jane, born in 1992, and a son named Cale, born in 1996. He bought a home in Palm Springs, California, in 1997. Before Teresa, he was married to Barbara Meale from 1973 to 1983.
In July 2025, it was shared that Rogers had been diagnosed with cancer.
