Story of Delgo
The story of Delgo takes place on a planet called Jhamora. Two main groups of people live there: the winged Nohrin and the ground-dwelling Lokni. The Nohrin came to Jhamora after losing their own world. The Lokni allowed them to settle.
The Conflict Begins
However, not all Nohrin wanted to live peacefully. A Nohrin leader named Sedessa believed her people were better than the Lokni. She tried to take land from them, which led to a war. During this war, Delgo, a young Lokni, lost his parents.
King Zahn, the Nohrin King, was very upset by the war. He scolded Sedessa for her actions. In revenge, Sedessa poisoned the Queen and tried to harm King Zahn. As a punishment, she was banished and her wings were removed.
Delgo's Journey
Delgo was raised by Elder Marley, a wise Lokni. Marley tried to teach Delgo about the power of magical stones. As Delgo grew up, he felt a strong desire for revenge against all Nohrin because of what happened to his family.
One day, Delgo met Princess Kyla, a Nohrin. They slowly became friends. But then, Kyla was kidnapped by General Raius, a Nohrin who was secretly working for Sedessa. Delgo and his friend Filo were wrongly blamed and arrested.
Escape and Rescue
In the Nohrin prison, Delgo met General Bogardus. Bogardus was a Nohrin who didn't want war with the Lokni. He had been tricked by Raius. Delgo, Filo, and Bogardus managed to escape from prison. They traveled through caves to reach Sedessa's hidden base. There, they rescued Kyla.
They returned just as a big war was starting between the Nohrin and the Lokni. Bogardus fought and defeated Raius, but he was badly hurt. As Bogardus was dying, Delgo realized that Bogardus was the Nohrin soldier who had saved his life many years ago during the first war.
Ending the War
Sedessa's army of monsters joined the battle. Kyla convinced the Nohrin generals to stop fighting the Lokni. Instead, the Nohrin picked up the Lokni and flew them away from the dangerous battlefield. Filo then used his skills to create a stampede of large animals, scaring away Sedessa's monsters.
Delgo went to face Sedessa and save King Zahn, whom she had captured. Delgo finally learned to control the stone magic and defeated Sedessa. He even saved her from falling to her death, showing he had let go of his revenge. However, Sedessa then attacked Kyla. They struggled, and Sedessa fell, hurting herself.
Later, during the celebrations, Raius, who wasn't dead, tried one last time to attack Delgo. He was stopped, but he threw a spear. Suddenly, the spear broke in mid-air! Everyone looked at Filo, who had finally mastered his slingshot. The movie ends with Delgo and Kyla's friendship growing into a romance as they share a kiss.

Why Delgo Didn't Do Well
Delgo was released in many movie theaters (over 2,000 screens). However, it didn't have a very big budget for advertising. This made it hard for people to know about the movie.
According to The Wall Street Journal, the movie's low earnings showed how difficult it is for films made outside of the big Hollywood studios to succeed. There were also many other movies released around the same time, making it a very busy time for films. Later, a company called 20th Century Fox bought the rights to distribute Delgo internationally and on DVD.
