Freddie James Prinze Jr. (born March 8, 1976) is a well-known American actor. He has starred in many popular movies and TV shows. You might know him from films like I Know What You Did Last Summer and the Scooby-Doo movies. He also voiced Kanan Jarrus in the Star Wars Rebels TV series. Freddie Prinze Jr. is the only child of the famous actor and comedian Freddie Prinze.

Early life and acting dreams
Freddie James Prinze Jr. was born in Los Angeles, California, on March 8, 1976. His mother is Katherine Elaine Prinze, and his father was the actor and comedian Freddie Prinze.
When Freddie Jr. was very young, his father passed away. After this, he and his mother moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Freddie was raised in the Catholic faith. His grandmother was from Puerto Rico, and he can speak Spanish fluently.
As a child, Freddie enjoyed acting in school plays. He also took part in the Albuquerque Children's Theatre. Even though he first thought about becoming a civil engineer, he later decided to pursue acting. After finishing high school in 1994, Freddie moved back to Los Angeles. He wanted to try out for roles in television shows.
Becoming a star in movies and TV
Freddie Prinze Jr. started his acting career with a guest role on the TV show Family Matters in 1995. He then appeared in a few other TV programs and movies made for television. His first movie role was in To Gillian on Her 37th Birthday in 1996.
Teen movies and big roles
Freddie became very popular with teenagers after starring in the horror movie I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997) and its sequel (1998). His first main role was in the romantic comedy She's All That (1999). This movie was a big hit, earning $63 million in the United States.
He continued to play leading roles in movies like Wing Commander (1999), Down to You (2000), and Summer Catch (2001).

Playing Fred in Scooby-Doo
In 2002, Freddie played Fred Jones in the live-action Scooby-Doo movie. He played the role again in the sequel, Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed (2004). In these movies, he acted alongside his wife, Sarah Michelle Gellar, who played Daphne.
TV shows and voice acting
Freddie also made a guest appearance on the popular TV show Friends in 2002. He played a sensitive male nanny named Sandy. He also had a role in the legal drama Boston Legal.
From 2005 to 2006, Freddie starred in his own TV show called Freddie. He also helped create and produce the show. The show was based on some real events from his life.
Freddie has done a lot of voice acting too. He voiced the character Pi in the animated film Shark Bait (2006). He also voiced Rick in Happily N'Ever After (2007).
In 2010, Freddie was a guest star on the TV show Psych. He played a character named Dennis. In 2021, he joined the reboot of Punky Brewster, playing the main character's ex-husband.
Voice of Kanan Jarrus
One of Freddie's most famous voice roles is Kanan Jarrus in the Disney XD series Star Wars Rebels. He voiced this character, one of the last surviving Jedi Knights, from 2014 to 2018. He even voiced Kanan again in an episode of the Disney+ series The Bad Batch in 2021.
Other interesting projects
Freddie Prinze Jr. has also lent his voice to video games. He voiced Lieutenant James Vega in Mass Effect 3 and The Iron Bull in Dragon Age: Inquisition.
Working with WWE
Freddie is a big fan of WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment). He even worked for WWE from 2008 to 2009 and again from 2010 to 2012. He was part of the creative team, helping to write for their TV shows. He also appeared on Raw as a special guest host in 2009.
Podcasts and new ventures
In November 2021, Freddie started his own podcast called Wrestling With Freddie. In March 2023, he launched another podcast, That Was Pretty Scary, with cohost Jon Lee Brody.
Freddie Prinze Jr. has also become involved in the streaming and sports world. In April 2023, he joined the ownership team of Premier Streaming Network, which focuses on wrestling and entertainment. In June 2024, he was announced as part of the ownership team for MyFandom, an app where sports fans can share their own media from sporting events.
Personal life and family

Freddie Prinze Jr. married actress Sarah Michelle Gellar on September 1, 2002, in Mexico. They first met while filming I Know What You Did Last Summer in 1997. They started dating in 2000 and got engaged in 2001.
The couple has worked together on several projects. They co-starred in the Scooby-Doo movies, Happily N'Ever After, and Star Wars Rebels. They have two children together: a daughter born in September 2009, and a son born in September 2012. They live in Los Angeles.
Freddie is also very active in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. He has reached the rank of purple belt in this martial art.
