The spell travels through the phone line. When the other troll answers, the spell is released! This is a great way to use magic from far away. However, some teenagers like to use Spell Phones to play pranks on their friends.

DVD Releases by Warner Home Video and NCircle Entertainment
In 2004, DIC made a deal with Warner Home Video to release Trollz DVDs. These DVDs would have three episodes that formed a story, plus extra scenes not shown on TV.
The first two DVDs were called Best Friends for Life - The Movie and Magic of the Five - The Movie. They came out in September 2005. They included episodes 1-3 and 4-6. Warner Home Video planned more DVDs, but they were not released at that time.
In August 2007, NCircle Entertainment re-released the first two DVDs. They also released Hair Over Heels - The Movie in December 2007, which had episodes 7-9. Other planned DVD releases were canceled. Later, these story-arc versions of the episodes became available on Netflix.
Other DVD Releases
BBC DVD released Best Friends for Life in the United Kingdom in 2006. In France, TF1 Video released "La Magie des Cinq" in October 2009.
