Becoming an Actor
Reece Thompson grew up in a small town close to Vancouver, Canada. From a very young age, he told his parents he wanted to be an actor. Because of this, Reece and his family started taking on small background roles in TV shows and movies being filmed in Vancouver.
After finishing sixth grade, Reece decided he wanted to focus more on acting. He convinced his mom to teach him at home (this is called homeschooling). Soon after, he started attending an acting school. Through the school, he met an agent who helped him get auditions for acting jobs.
Early Roles and Voice Acting
Reece began his acting journey by lending his voice to characters in animated TV shows. He also made short appearances in several live-action TV series. Some of the animated shows he voiced characters for include Infinite Ryvius, MegaMan NT Warrior, InuYasha, and Master Keaton.
He also appeared in episodes of TV shows like Jeremiah and Tru Calling. His first major role in a live-action TV show was in 2002. He played James Barns in the Canadian children's series I Love Mummy.

In 2005, Reece voiced Simon Star in the animated series Trollz. That same year, he got a regular role as Dwayne in the children's TV series Zixx. He continued this role in the show's third season in 2008. In 2006, he was a guest star on an episode of Smallville and had a recurring role in the series Three Moons Over Milford.
His first main role in a movie came in 2007 with Rocket Science. In this film, he played Hal Hefner, a boy who stutters and joins his high school's debate team. The movie was very popular and was even nominated for an award at the Sundance Film Festival. Around this time, he also started voicing Aero in the GeoTrax animated series.
