Troy Lenard Sneed Jr. (born December 14, 1967 – died April 27, 2020) was an American gospel singer, songwriter, and musician. He was known for his inspiring music and powerful voice. Troy Sneed created many popular gospel albums during his career.

Troy Sneed's Early Life
Troy Sneed was born on December 14, 1967, in Perry, Florida. When he was older, he went to Florida A&M University. There, he played American football for the university team.
From Football to Music
Sadly, Troy had an injury while playing football. This injury meant he could no longer play the sport he loved. After his football days ended, he joined the university choir. This was a big step towards his music career.
After college, Troy became a teacher at Jax Beach Elementary School in Jacksonville, Florida. Later, a person named Milton Biggham from Savoy Records asked him to become an assistant music minister. This role was with the famous Georgia Mass Choir in Atlanta, Georgia.
Troy Sneed's Music Career
Troy Sneed's journey in music officially began in 1999. His first album, Call Jesus, came out on March 23, 1999. It was released by Malaco Records.
Charting Success with Gospel Albums
His next album, Bless That Wonderful Name, was released in 2001. In 2005, Troy started his own record label called Emtro Gospel. He released his third album, A State of Worship, on February 22, 2005. This album was a big success! It reached No. 22 on the Billboard Gospel Albums chart.
Troy continued to release more music. His album In His Presence came out on October 10, 2006. It also did well, reaching No. 44 on the Gospel Albums chart. In 2011, his album My Heart Says Yes was a huge hit. It peaked at No. 5 on the Gospel Albums chart. His seventh album, All Is Well, was released on August 7, 2012. This album reached No. 9 on the same chart.
