Tsamma juice is a special brand of watermelon juice. It has been made by a company called Frey Farms since 2014. You can find Tsamma juice in different flavors. Some kinds are mixed with coconut water or blueberry juice.
What Does Tsamma Mean?
The name "Tsamma" comes from a type of watermelon. This watermelon grows in parts of Africa, south of the Sahara Desert. People sometimes call it "the Mother of all watermelon varieties." This means it's like the original type of watermelon.
However, the watermelons used for Tsamma juice are not grown in Africa. They come from farms in the Midwest and Southern United States. These farms are very big, covering about 7,000 acres. That's a lot of land for growing watermelons! The farms also grow many pumpkins for stores across the country.
How Tsamma Juice Started
The idea for Tsamma juice came from the company's founder, Sarah Frey. She was only 16 years old when she first made the juice. She used a special family recipe that had been passed down.
After finishing high school, Sarah started her own business. She noticed that no one was selling watermelon juice in stores. She saw a great chance to create something new. By the end of her first year, she was already sending her juice to 150 different stores! Sarah has even suggested that Tsamma juice could be a good healthy drink, just like coconut water.
