Tsukasa Hosaka (保坂 司, Hosaka Tsukasa, March 3, 1937 – January 21, 2018) was a famous Japanese football player and manager. He was a talented goalkeeper. He played for the Japan national team.

Playing Career Highlights

Tsukasa Hosaka was born in Kofu, Japan, on March 3, 1937. He loved football from a young age. He became a professional player after finishing university.

Club Football Journey

After studying at Meiji University, Hosaka joined a team called Furukawa Electric in 1959. This team was very successful during his time there.

  • He helped Furukawa Electric win the Emperor's Cup three times.
  • They won in 1960, 1961, and 1964.
  • In 1965, Furukawa Electric became part of a new league called the Japan Soccer League.
  • He played 47 games in this league before he retired in 1968.

Playing for Japan

Tsukasa Hosaka also played for his country. He was a key player for the Japan national team.

  • In November 1960, he played his first game for Japan. It was against South Korea.
  • He also played in the Asian Games in 1962.
  • He was the main goalkeeper for Japan in the early 1960s.
  • In 1964, he was chosen for the Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
