Tulivu-Donna Lynn Cumberbatch was a talented jazz singer. She was born in Brooklyn, New York. Her father, Harold Cumberbatch, was also a musician who played the baritone saxophone.

Tulivu's African name "Tulivu" means "beautiful" in the Swahili language. Her middle name, "Donna Lynn," was inspired by a famous jazz song called "Donna Lee." This song was made popular by the legendary jazz musician Charlie Parker. Tulivu-Donna Lynn Cumberbatch passed away on January 17, 2022.

When Tulivu-Donna was a child, she loved to sing. She sang in her church choir. She also joined the All City High School Chorus. After high school, she studied at Herbert H. Lehman College.

After her training, she started her own music career. She was inspired by famous jazz singers like Carmen McRae, Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, and Nancy Wilson. Later, she joined a group called "The Magnificent Trio." This group included Mark Johnson, Donald Smith, and Rachiim Ausar-Sahu.

Tulivu-Donna also performed with many other musicians. She sang with Hannibal Peterson and the Brooklyn Philharmonic. She also performed with the Kronos Quartet. She traveled to the Caribbean, Europe, and Canada to share her music. She often sang at jazz clubs and festivals in New York City.

She became well-known for her work with Yoko Kanno. Yoko Kanno is a famous Japanese composer. Tulivu-Donna sang on Kanno's album Song to Fly. She also sang on the soundtracks for the popular anime TV show Cowboy Bebop. She recorded a jazz version of the song "Lullaby" for Yuki Kajiura's album Fiction.
