Yuki Kajiura (梶浦 由記, Kajiura Yuki, born August 6, 1965) is a famous Japanese composer, arranger, and music producer. She creates music for many popular anime shows. Some of these include Sword Art Online, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Fate/Zero, The Garden of Sinners, Pandora Hearts, and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.

Yuki Kajiura is known for her special and unique musical style. She often mixes contemporary classical music with electronic music. Her music uses memorable tunes and themes that make it stand out.

Early Life and Music Journey

Yuki Kajiura was born in Tokyo, Japan, on August 6, 1965. She started playing music in 1972, often playing the piano with her father. Her family later moved to West Germany because of her father's job.

When she was seven, Yuki wrote her first song. It was called "Thank you, Good-bye" and was a farewell to her grandmother. She moved back to Japan during middle school and later finished college. Before focusing on music, she worked as a computer programmer until 1992.

Starting Her Career

In 1993, Yuki Kajiura joined a music group called See-Saw with Chiaki Ishikawa. This was an important step in her music career.

In 2002, See-Saw made music for the anime series .hack//Sign. During this time, Yuki met singer Emily Bindiger. Yuki was so impressed by Emily's voice that she asked her to sing more than 10 songs for the series.

New Music Projects

In 2003, Yuki Kajiura teamed up with Yūka Nanri to form a group called FictionJunction Yuuka. They released their first album, Destination, in 2005. They also created songs for the anime Madlax.

Later, in 2008, Yuki formed another group called Kalafina. This group included singers Wakana Ootaki, Keiko Kubota, and Hikaru Masai.

In 2009, Yuki started a new project named FictionJunction. Unlike her other groups, this project works with different singers. Some artists who have collaborated with FictionJunction include Aira Yūki and Kaori Oda.

Live Performances and Recent Work

Yuki Kajiura has performed at many anime events around the world. She attended Anime Expo in 2003, 2012, and 2018. She also performed at Anime Boston in 2009 with Kalafina.

In 2016, a concert called "Yuki Kajiura LIVE ~featuring SWORD ART ONLINE~" was planned for Los Angeles. However, it was canceled due to travel issues.

In 2018, Yuki Kajiura started her own talent agency called FictionJunction Music. She now manages her music career through her own company.
