Location in Newfoundland

The Twillingate Islands are a group of islands in Notre Dame Bay, which is part of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. People sometimes call them "Toulinquet" in French. These islands are mostly two main islands: North Twillingate Island and South Twillingate Island. There are also a few smaller islands nearby, like Burnt Island.

The main town of Twillingate is spread across both the North and South islands.

Where Are the Twillingate Islands?

The Twillingate Islands are found off the coast of the main island of Newfoundland. They are located in a large area of water called Notre Dame Bay. This part of Canada is known for its beautiful coastal views.

Connecting the Islands

The islands are well-connected, making it easy to travel between them. South Twillingate Island is linked to New World Island by a special road called the Walter B. Elliott Causeway. A causeway is like a bridge that goes over water, connecting two land areas.

North Twillingate Island is connected to South Twillingate Island by the Tickle Bridge. This bridge runs along Main Street in the town of Twillingate. It helps people and cars move easily between the two main islands.
