Twin Groves is a small town in the state of Arkansas, United States. It is located in the northwestern part of Faulkner County. The town got its name from two nearby communities, Solomon Grove and Zion Grove. These two places joined together to form Twin Groves in 1991.

In 2010, the town had a population of 335 people. This was an increase from 276 people in 2000. Twin Groves is part of the larger Central Arkansas area.

Geography of Twin Groves

Twin Groves is built along the top of Batesville Mountain. This is a low ridge that rises about 300 feet (91 meters) above Cadron Creek to the south.

U.S. Route 65 goes through the eastern side of the town, which was once Zion Grove. This highway leads south about 18 miles (29 km) to Conway. Conway is the main city and county seat of Faulkner County. The highway also goes north about 21 miles (34 km) to Clinton.

The United States Census Bureau says that Twin Groves covers a total area of about 4.6 square miles (11.8 square kilometers). All of this area is land, with no water.

In 2000, there were 276 people living in Twin Groves. Most of the people were Black or African American (72.10%). About 26.81% were White. A small number (1.09%) were of two or more races. Less than 1% (0.36%) were Hispanic or Latino.

There were 103 households in the town. A household is a group of people living together in one home. About 27% of these homes had children under 18 living there. Most homes (58.3%) were married couples living together.

The average age of people in Twin Groves in 2000 was 41 years old. About 22.5% of the population was under 18. About 17.4% of the people were 65 years old or older.

Education in Twin Groves

Students in Twin Groves can go to public schools. Most of the town is served by the Guy–Perkins School District. This district provides education for both elementary and high school students.

Before 1949, the Solomon Grove area had its own school district. This district included three schools for Black students. After 1949, these schools joined with Guy-Perkins. Students from these schools then went to classes in Conway.

Later, in 1964, Guy-Perkins High School became integrated, meaning students of all races could attend together. Guy-Perkins Elementary School followed in 1966.

Small parts of Twin Groves are also served by other school districts. These include the South Side School District and the Greenbrier School District.
