Tyler Tarik Bey (born February 10, 1998) is an American professional basketball player. He currently plays for Hapoel Haifa in the Israeli Basketball Premier League (ISBL). Before turning pro, he played college basketball for the Colorado Buffaloes.

Early Life and High School Basketball
Tyler Bey grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. He started playing competitive basketball when he was in eighth grade. During his junior year at Las Vegas High School, he was a great player. He averaged 17 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game.
Later, Bey moved to Middlebrooks Academy in Los Angeles. This is a special school that helps students get ready for college. Playing there helped him get noticed by bigger college basketball programs. He received scholarship offers from several top universities. On September 10, 2016, he decided to play for Colorado. Experts thought he was a very promising player for college.
College Basketball Career
Freshman Year at Colorado
As a freshman, Tyler Bey played in 32 games, starting 21 of them. He averaged about 6.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. After his first year, he worked hard to improve his shooting skills.
Sophomore Year Success
In his sophomore year, Bey really shined. He started to play much better after a game in January 2019. He had 11 "double-doubles" (meaning he got double digits in two stats like points and rebounds) in the last 16 games. He scored a career-high 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a big win against Oregon.
Later, he scored 22 points and had a career-high 17 rebounds against Arizona State. Because of his amazing play, he was named Pac-12 Player of the Week. He led his team with 13.6 points and 9.9 rebounds per game. He was also named to the First Team All-Pac-12. He even won the league's Most Improved Player award.
Junior Year and NBA Draft
In his junior year, Bey continued to impress. He scored 16 points and made a career-high six steals in a game against UC Irvine. He was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Main Event Tournament. This was after he helped his team win against Clemson.
At the end of the season, he was named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year. He was also chosen for the Second Team All-Pac-12. As a junior, he averaged 13.8 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. After this great season, Tyler Bey decided to enter the 2020 NBA draft.
Professional Basketball Journey
Starting in the NBA
Tyler Bey was picked 36th overall in the 2020 NBA draft by the Philadelphia 76ers. Soon after, he was traded to the Dallas Mavericks. He signed with the Mavericks in November 2020. His contract allowed him to play for both the Mavericks and their minor league team, the Texas Legends. In February 2021, he was sent to play for the Long Island Nets in the NBA G League.
Playing for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers
In August 2021, Bey signed with the Houston Rockets. He later signed a special contract that let him play for both the Rockets and their G League team, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. He was part of the Vipers team that won the NBA G League championship in 2022.
Playing Overseas
After his time in the NBA G League, Tyler Bey moved to play basketball in other countries.
- Ironi Ness Ziona (2022–2023): In July 2022, he signed with Ironi Ness Ziona in the Israeli Basketball Premier League. He was the top scorer in the Israeli League in 2023.
- Magnolia Hotshots (2023–2024): In August 2023, he joined the Magnolia Hotshots in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He was one of the team's "imports" (foreign players). In 22 games, he averaged 25.8 points, 13.0 rebounds, 2.3 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game. He was among the league leaders in all these stats.
- Hapoel Haifa (2024–present): In August 2024, Bey signed with Hapoel Haifa in the Israeli Basketball Premier League.
