Typhoon Rammasun (also called Typhoon Glenda in the Philippines) was a very strong storm that happened in 2014. It was a type of storm called a typhoon that formed in the Pacific Ocean. This powerful storm first affected Guam. It was also expected to hit the Philippines, Taiwan, eastern China, and Vietnam.

By July 18, 2014, the winds of Typhoon Rammasun were blowing at about 140 miles per hour (225 kilometers per hour). Many countries, from the Philippines to Vietnam and China, put out storm warnings to tell people to get ready. The Philippines faced a very big threat from this typhoon.

What Happened During Typhoon Rammasun?

Typhoon Rammasun caused a lot of damage and sadness. By July 18, 2014, the typhoon had sadly caused the deaths of 38 people in the Philippines.
