Uma Devi Pemmaraju (born March 31, 1958, died August 8, 2022) was a journalist and TV anchor. She was from both India and America. Uma was one of the first hosts on the Fox News TV network. She started working there when it first launched in 1996.
Uma Pemmaraju was born in India. She grew up in San Antonio, Texas. She was a main host for a show called "America's News Headquarters with Uma Pemmaraju" on Fox News. She also worked as a reporter for Bloomberg News.

Uma's Journalism Career
Uma Pemmaraju started her TV career in Texas. She worked at KENS-TV and the San Antonio Express-News newspaper. She was a producer and a reporter there. At the same time, she was a full-time student at Trinity University. She was also the editor of her college newspaper.
After Texas, she moved to KTVT-11 in Dallas. There, she worked as a news anchor and reporter. Then she went to WMAR-TV in Baltimore. While working in Baltimore, she won an Emmy. An Emmy is a special award for excellence in television.
