Union City is a small village in Darke County, Ohio, in the United States. In 2020, about 1,582 people lived there. It is special because it sits right on the state line, directly across from its "twin city," Union City, Indiana. This means you can be in Ohio and Indiana just by crossing a street!

History of Union City

Union City was first planned out in 1838. It officially became a village on December 6, 1853. This happened during a time when the village was growing fast. A new train line, the Greenville and Miami Railroad, opened through the town on December 12, 1852. This helped Union City grow even more.

One special building in Union City is the Lambert-Parent House. It is so important that it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means it is a historic place worth protecting.
