The Story of United Coffee

The history of United Coffee goes back to 1818. A coffee roaster named Mr. Sweens and his family started the company. It was first called Drie Mollen. They began in 's-Hertogenbosch (den Bosch) in the southern part of the Netherlands.

By the late 1900s, Drie Mollen started to grow. It became an international business that roasted coffee. In the 1990s, five other big tea and coffee companies joined the Sweens family business. This helped the company grow even more.

In 2008, a company called CapVest bought Drie Mollen. CapVest is a private equity fund. This means they invest in and help grow companies. In March 2010, the company changed its name to United Coffee. Its main office also moved from the Netherlands to Geneva. Then, in 2012, CapVest sold United Coffee to UCC Holdings Limited.
