The Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of the Philippines (which means "Envoy of the United States of America to the Republic of the Philippines" in Filipino) is a very important person! They represent the United States in the Philippines. Think of them as the main go-between for the two countries. Their job is to help the U.S. and the Philippines work together on many things, like trade, safety, and culture.
This special job was created on July 4, 1946. This was the day the Philippines became an independent country, no longer under U.S. rule. Since 1996, the ambassador to the Philippines also works with the Republic of Palau.
The ambassador works at the Embassy of the United States in Manila, which is located along Roxas Boulevard. They live in a special home in Forbes Park in Makati. The ambassador also has a summer home in Baguio, called The American Residence.
