The University of Neuchâtel (often called UniNE) is a public university in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. It is a French-speaking school that focuses on research. The university has four main schools, called faculties, and many different institutes. These include studies in arts, human sciences, natural sciences, law, and economics. The Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences is the largest, with about 2,000 students.
The university has a yearly budget of about 144 million Swiss francs. It also gets around 40 million Swiss francs each year for research projects. About 4,000 students attend UniNE, including 600 students working on their PhDs. Each year, the university gives out over 600 degrees and certificates. More than 1,100 people work at the university.

History of UniNE
The University of Neuchâtel started from an older school called the Academy. This Academy was created in 1838 by King Frederick William IV of Prussia. At that time, he was also the Prince of Neuchâtel. The Academy offered degrees in arts and sciences.
In 1848, the Academy was closed for a short time. A new "academy" was set up in 1866. This new school was finally renamed the University of Neuchâtel in 1909. The university is located in the French-speaking part of Switzerland.
Before 2005, the university followed a similar education system to France. Now, it uses the Bologna Process. This system has three main levels of university degrees: bachelor's, master's, and doctorate.

It also has an international master's degree program with SDA Bocconi University and De Montfort University, working with FIFA. This faculty includes institutes like the Institute of Health Law and the International Sport Science Center.

The Faculty of Economics has around 700 students. It offers master's degree programs in many areas, including:
