Unión de San Antonio is a town and a larger area called a municipality in the Mexican state of Jalisco. It's named after Saint Anthony of Padua, a very important saint. This is because the first church built here was dedicated to him.

As of 2020, about 19,069 people live in the whole municipality. The town itself has about 8,737 residents. Unión de San Antonio is located about 32 kilometers (20 miles) west of León, a big city in the state of Guanajuato.

The main way people make a living here is through agriculture. This means they grow crops like maize (corn), wheat, and beans. They also raise livestock, which are farm animals like cows or pigs.

The town got its name because two important roads met at a place called the "Old Dam." This dam is still there today on the east side of town. Long ago, two hard-working people, Don Pablo and Don Jose Antonio, built a small chapel. This chapel grew to become the beautiful church that is now the heart of the town.

In the early 1800s, this area was known by a different name: Hacienda of Saint Anthony of the Adobes. A "hacienda" was a large estate or farm. Later, it became known as Villa of Union before getting its current name.
