Upper North Falls is a beautiful waterfall located in Silver Falls State Park in Oregon, USA. This park is found at the eastern edge of Salem, in Marion County. The waterfall is in a special area where the Mount Hood National Forest meets the Middle Santiam Wilderness.
Upper North Falls is a "plunge" type waterfall. This means the water falls straight down without touching the rock behind it. It drops about 65 feet (nearly 20 meters) from top to bottom! Silver Falls State Park is famous for having many amazing waterfalls. Some other well-known waterfalls in the park include South Falls, Drake Falls, Lower North Falls, and Winter Falls.
Where to Find Upper North Falls
Upper North Falls is formed by the North Fork of Silver Creek. This creek flows through the park, creating several waterfalls. You can find Upper North Falls on the eastern side of the park's popular "Trail of Ten Falls."
It is located along the North Falls Trail. The waterfall is about a quarter-mile away from another waterfall called North Falls. This makes it easy to visit both waterfalls during your trip to the park.
