Västanfors IF Bandy Team
Västanfors IF is well-known for its bandy team. Bandy is a winter sport played on ice, similar to ice hockey but with a ball instead of a puck. The team played in Sweden's second-highest bandy league, called Allsvenskan, for many years. They were in this league from its start in 2007 until 2012.
Bandy Championship Win
The club has a proud history in bandy. They have played in Sweden's top bandy division for 32 seasons. Their biggest success came in 1954. That year, Västanfors IF won the Swedish national championship. This was a huge achievement for the club.
Västanfors IF Floorball Team
Besides bandy and soccer, Västanfors IF also had a successful floorball team. Floorball is a fast-paced indoor sport played with sticks and a light ball. The club's women's floorball team was especially strong in the 1980s.
Floorball Success
The women's floorball team won the Swedish national championship twice. They became champions in 1983 and again in 1985. They also earned a silver medal in 1984, showing they were one of the best teams in the country during that time.
