The club played in Allsvenskan, which is the second-highest bandy league in Sweden. They were in this league from 2007 until 2012. After that, they moved down to Division 1.
Championship Win
Västanfors IF has played in Sweden's top bandy league for 32 seasons. Their biggest achievement was winning the Swedish national championship in 1954. This means they were the best bandy team in Sweden that year!
Floorball Success
Besides bandy and soccer, Västanfors IF also had a successful floorball team in the 1980s. Floorball is a type of indoor hockey.
The women's floorball team was very strong. They won the Swedish national championship twice, in 1983 and 1985. They also earned a silver medal in 1984, showing they were one of the top teams in the country.
