Segundo Víctor Ibarbo Guerrero is a football player from Colombia. He was born on May 19, 1990. He plays as a winger or forward for Inter Palmira.
Víctor started his football journey at Atlético Nacional in Colombia. In 2011, he moved to Italy to play for Cagliari. There, he played in over 100 matches in Italy's top league, Serie A.
He also played on loan for other famous clubs like Roma and Watford. He even returned to Atlético Nacional and played for Panathinaikos in Greece.
Víctor Ibarbo also played for the Colombian national team starting in 2010. He helped his country reach the quarter-finals in the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2015 Copa América.
Many fans of the EA Sports FIFA video games know him well. He was a very popular player to use in FIFA 14 and FIFA 15. In FIFA 15, he was part of a famous attacking trio with Seydou Doumbia and Gervinho.

Víctor Ibarbo's Club Journey
Starting at Atlético Nacional
Víctor Ibarbo was born in Tumaco, Colombia. He began playing football at a club called La Cantera. Later, he joined Atlético Nacional, a big team in Colombia. He quickly became a part of their main squad.
He played his first game for Atlético Nacional on February 21, 2008. By the end of that year, he had played in 16 matches. In 2009, there were talks about him moving to an Italian club, Udinese. But he stayed with Atlético Nacional.
On May 14, 2009, Víctor scored his first goal for the club. It was in a 2–1 win against Independiente Medellín. He played 30 games that year and scored one goal.
In 2010, Víctor became a key player, helping his team with many assists. He scored his first goal of the season on May 2, 2010. He ended the year with 40 appearances and 3 goals.
For the 2011 season, he changed his jersey number to 8. He helped Atlético Nacional win their 11th national title. By the time he left the club, he had played 22 games and scored 2 goals that season.
Playing for Cagliari in Italy

On July 4, 2011, Víctor Ibarbo moved to Italy to play for Cagliari. He made his debut for Cagliari in a 2–1 win against Roma.
He scored his first goal for Cagliari on December 4, 2011, in a 1–0 win. He played in almost all of Cagliari's matches in his first season, making 39 appearances and scoring 3 goals. The club's owner, Massimo Cellino, praised him for his efforts.
In the 2012–13 season, Víctor continued to be an important player. On February 10, 2013, he scored his first goal of that season. A month later, on March 10, 2013, he scored three goals in one game against Sampdoria! He finished the season with 34 appearances and 6 goals.
Before the 2013–14 season, many big clubs wanted to sign Víctor. But he decided to stay with Cagliari. He scored his first goal of that season on September 25, 2013. He played 31 games and scored 4 goals that year.
After playing in the World Cup for Colombia, Víctor signed a new contract with Cagliari in August 2014. He scored his first goal of the 2014–15 season on October 29, 2014.
Loan to A.S. Roma
On February 1, 2015, Víctor joined another Italian club, Roma, on a loan deal. He made his debut for Roma a few days later in a cup game.
He played his first league game for Roma on March 22, 2015. He helped Roma secure second place in the league, which meant they could play in the Champions League the next year. His loan at Roma was extended for another season in July 2015.
Loan to Watford in England
On September 1, 2015, Víctor moved to England to play for Premier League team Watford on loan. He made his debut for Watford on September 27, 2015.
However, he did not play much for Watford. He only made four appearances before leaving the club in January 2016.
Return Loan to Atlético Nacional
After his time at Watford, Víctor returned to Atlético Nacional in Colombia. This was his first time back in Colombia in almost five years.
He played his first game back on February 7, 2016, helping his team win 3–0. On June 4, he scored his first goal during this loan spell. He helped Atlético Nacional win the Superliga Colombiana and the Copa Libertadores, which is a very important South American club competition.
Loan to Panathinaikos in Greece
On June 30, 2016, Víctor joined Panathinaikos in Greece on loan. He scored his first goal for them on August 4, 2016, in a European match. He also scored two goals in another European game on October 20, 2016.
His loan spell with Panathinaikos ended on January 31, 2017. He played 19 games and scored 3 goals for the Greek club.
Playing for Sagan Tosu in Japan
On March 14, 2017, Víctor moved to Japan to play for Sagan Tosu on loan. He made his debut for the Japanese club in a 1–0 loss.
He scored his first goal for Sagan Tosu on May 31, 2017. In July 2017, his move to Sagan Tosu became permanent. On August 19, 2017, he scored two goals in one game for the first time with Sagan Tosu. He finished the 2017 season with 29 appearances and 6 goals.
In 2018, Víctor signed another contract with Sagan Tosu. He scored his first league goal of the season on March 10, 2018. He dedicated this goal to his former teammate, Davide Astori, who had passed away. He was even named the MVP (Most Valuable Player) for March due to his great performances.
Víctor Ibarbo's International Career
Playing for Colombia's U20 Team
Víctor Ibarbo first played for the Colombian Under-20 team in 2007. He played in six matches during the South American U-20 Championship.
Playing for the Senior Colombia Team
On May 20, 2010, Víctor was called up to the senior Colombian team for the first time. He made his first international appearance on May 27, 2010, in a game against South Africa.
On November 14, 2013, he scored his first goal for the national team in a friendly match against Belgium.
Víctor was part of the Colombian team that reached the quarter-finals of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He played in their first group match, a 3–0 win against Greece. He also played in the second match against Ivory Coast.
The next year, Víctor played in the 2015 Copa América in Chile. Colombia again reached the quarter-finals in that tournament. He has not been called up to the national team since then.

Víctor Ibarbo's Life Outside Football
Víctor Ibarbo was born in Tumaco, Colombia, but his family is from Cali. His father worked as an electrician. Víctor grew up with seven brothers.
He is married to his wife, Sirley, and they have a son named Martin.
Víctor has an agent named Riccardo Calleri who helps him with his career. He also said that Zdeněk Zeman, one of his coaches at Cagliari, was like a father figure to him. Besides Spanish, Víctor also speaks English and Italian.
