Vijayender Pal Singh Badnore (born 12 May 1948) is an Indian politician. He served as the 28th Governor of Punjab. He was also the Administrator of Chandigarh. Mr. Badnore has been a member of both the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha, which are parts of India's Parliament. He belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

About V.P. Singh Badnore
Mr. Badnore was born in Badnor, Rajasthan. His parents were Gopal Singh and Raj Kanwar Nathawad. He studied English and Business Management at Mayo College in Ajmer. In 1978, he married Alka Singh. They have two children, a son named Avijit and a daughter named Divija.
Political Journey
V.P. Singh Badnore has had a long career in Indian politics. He has held several important positions.
Early Political Roles
Mr. Badnore was a member of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly for many years. He served from 1977 to 1980, 1985 to 1990, 1993 to 1998, and 1998 to 1999. During this time, he also worked as the Cabinet Minister for Irrigation in the Government of Rajasthan. This was from 1988 to 1999. He was also a vice-president in the BJP party in Rajasthan for over 15 years.
Role in Parliament
Mr. Badnore was a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha. He served two terms, from 1999 to 2004 and from 2004 to 2009. He represented the Bhilwara area of Rajasthan. During his time in the Lok Sabha, he was part of important committees. He also helped create the Electricity Act in 2003.
Later, he became a member of the Rajya Sabha, which is the upper house of India's Parliament. He was a Rajya Sabha member from 2010 to 2016. In 2014, he was chosen to be on the Panel of Vice-Chairman for the Rajya Sabha.
Work for Wildlife
From 2005 to 2009, Mr. Badnore led a special team. This team worked to bring tigers back to the Sariska Tiger Reserve in Rajasthan. This was very important because all the tigers in Sariska had disappeared between 2003 and 2004. His team helped move tigers from another reserve, Ranthambore, to Sariska to help the tiger population grow again.
Governor of Punjab
On 17 August 2016, Mr. Badnore was appointed as the Governor of Punjab. As Governor, he was the head of the state of Punjab. He also served as the Administrator of Chandigarh. He finished his term as Governor on 30 August 2021.
