Valambray is a newer commune in France. It was officially created on January 1, 2017. This happened when several smaller communes decided to join together to form one larger one.
How Valambray Was Formed
Before 2017, Valambray didn't exist as a single place. Instead, there were five separate communes:
- Airan (which is now the main administrative center of Valambray)
- Billy
- Conteville
- Fierville-Bray
- Poussy-la-Campagne
These five places merged to become Valambray. This kind of merger helps combine resources and manage the area more efficiently.

Valambray is situated in the Calvados department of France. This department is part of the Normandy region, which is famous for its history and beautiful landscapes. Valambray is also part of the arrondissement of Caen and the canton of Troarn. These are ways France divides its land for local government.
