What is Vallons-de-l'Erdre?

Vallons-de-l'Erdre is a new and growing commune in France. When it was created, it brought together six smaller towns. These towns decided to merge to work together. This helps them share resources and manage their area better.

How the Town Was Formed

Before 2018, Vallons-de-l'Erdre did not exist as one big town. Instead, there were six separate communes. These were:

  • Saint-Mars-la-Jaille (which is now the main part)
  • Bonnœuvre
  • Freigné (which used to be in a different department called Maine-et-Loire)
  • Maumusson
  • Saint-Sulpice-des-Landes
  • Vritz

By joining together, these towns became one larger municipality. This is a common way for smaller communities in France to grow.
