Valorie Burton's Early Life and Career
Valorie Burton moved many times as a child. Her father was in the Air Force. She lived in Florida, West Germany, and Colorado. She spent eight years living in Dallas, Texas. This is where she started her first business. It was called The Burton Agency.
Starting Her First Business
Valorie ran The Burton Agency from 1997 to 2001. This company focused on marketing and public relations. It helped other businesses improve their image. It also helped them connect better with customers. This often led to more sales for those companies.
New Ventures and Public Service
In 2001, Valorie Burton started a new company called Inspire, Inc. In the same year, the Governor of Texas, Rick Perry, appointed her to a special group. This group was called the Governor's Commission for Women. She served on this commission for two years.
In 2009, she launched the CaPP Institute. CaPP stands for Coaching and Positive Psychology. This institute helps train people to become coaches.
