Vanceboro is a small town located in Craven County, North Carolina, in the United States. In 2010, about 1,005 people lived there.
The town was first called Swift Creek. Later, people decided to rename it after Zebulon B. Vance. He was a very important person in North Carolina. He visited the town in 1876 when he was running to become governor. Vanceboro is also part of the larger New Bern, North Carolina area.
