It is known as a census-designated place (CDP), which means it's an area that looks like a town but isn't officially a city. Vancleave is part of the larger Pascagoula metropolitan area. Where is Vancleave Located?
Vancleave covers a large part of central Jackson County. It has a total area of about 114 square kilometers (44 square miles). Most of this area is land, with a small part being water.
The main part of Vancleave is found along Mississippi Highway 57. The community stretches out quite a bit. To the north, it reaches Mississippi Highway 614. To the east, it goes all the way to the Pascagoula River. The southern edge is near the city of Gautier. Vancleave is about 18 miles northwest of Pascagoula, which is the main city in Jackson County. It's also about 19 miles northeast of Biloxi.
