Vassy was once a small town, or commune, located in the northwest of France. It was part of the region called Basse-Normandie. Vassy was also found in the department known as Calvados.
On January 1, 2016, Vassy joined with several other nearby communes. They all came together to form a new, larger commune. This new commune is now called Valdallière.

Vassy was situated in the Calvados department. This area is in the Lower Normandy region of France. It is known for its beautiful countryside. The closest larger town is Vire.
