Vats-houll is a small place located on the island of Whalsay in the Shetland islands of Scotland. It's part of the Nesting area. This village sits on the northwestern side of Whalsay, right next to a beautiful body of water called loch Vats-houll.

The village gets its name from the loch it overlooks. Long ago, in 1882, maps showed an old, unroofed building right by the loch in Vats-houll. This was on the first official map of Orkney and Shetland.

Where is Vats-houll Located?

Vats-houll is found in the northwestern part of Whalsay. Whalsay is one of the many islands that make up the Shetland archipelago. The village is right on the edge of the loch, which is a Scottish word for a lake.
