Serving in the Vietnam War

Lang played a role in the Vietnam War. He worked as an advisor to a South Vietnamese Army division. His job was to help them with their communication systems. He also commanded the 39th Signal Battalion during the war.

Throughout his career, Lang was chosen to lead many different Army groups. He commanded the 447th Signal Battalion in Europe. Later, he led the 1st Signal Brigade, which is a very large communications unit. He also commanded the Communications and Electronic Materiel Readiness Command (CERCOM).
