Vernon Hamilton (born December 28, 1984) is an American who used to play professional basketball. Now, he helps players develop their skills for the Dallas Mavericks team. He played college basketball at Clemson University, where he also earned his college degrees. When Vernon wasn't playing basketball, he spent a lot of time helping his community. He worked with the 100 Black Men of America group in Atlanta, Georgia.

High School Basketball Days
Vernon Hamilton was a top high school basketball player. In his final year, he was ranked as the 83rd best high school player in the country. He scored about 24 points per game. He also had 7.7 assists, 6.2 rebounds, and 3 steals per game. Vernon led Benedictine High School to win its first-ever state private school championship. He was also a great football player. He was chosen for all-state and all-conference teams as a defensive back and wide receiver. He even received offers to play college football.
College Career at Clemson
After high school, Vernon Hamilton decided to play basketball for the Clemson Tigers. He was a starting player for all four years he was there.
In 2004, Vernon was recognized as an honorable mention for the AP All-ACC Freshman team. This means he was one of the best new players in his league. He was also chosen for the All-ACC Defensive team in both 2006 and 2007. Vernon was the first Clemson player since 1998 to be invited to the 2007 NABC All-Star Game.

Playing in the NBA D-League
On September 29, 2008, Vernon signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers. He played in some pre-season games and received praise from coach Mike Brown. Coach Brown said, "I thought Vern Hamilton had a terrific game for us."
Later, on September 28, 2010, Hamilton signed with the Detroit Pistons. He played in 5 pre-season games for them. He also had tryouts with the Dallas Mavericks and Washington Wizards.
Playing Around the World
Vernon Hamilton also played basketball in other countries:
- In 2013, he played 17 games for ENAD in Cyprus. He averaged 8.5 points, 5 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 2.3 steals per game.
