Vervins is a small town, also called a commune, located in the northern part of France. It is part of the Picardy region and the Aisne department.

A Famous Peace Treaty
Vervins is best known for an important event in history. On May 2, 1598, a peace treaty was signed here. This treaty helped end a long war between two powerful countries.
The treaty was signed by Henry IV of France, who was the King of France, and Phillip II of Spain, who was the King of Spain. This agreement is known as the Peace of Vervins. It brought peace to Europe after many years of conflict.
