Vibbard is a small, unincorporated community. It is located in the northwest part of Ray County, in the state of Missouri. This area is also part of the larger Kansas City metropolitan area. History of Vibbard
Vibbard was officially planned out in 1870. This process is called "platting." It means creating a map that shows how land is divided into smaller pieces and how streets will be laid out. The community was named after a railroad worker. His last name was Mr. Vibbard. A post office opened in Vibbard in 1870. It stayed open and served the community until 1939.
