Vicente Gerbasi (born June 2, 1913, in Canaobo, Carabobo – died December 28, 1992, in Caracas) was a very important poet from Venezuela in the 20th century. He wrote many beautiful poems.
About Vicente Gerbasi
Vicente Gerbasi was born in Canoabo, a small city in northern Venezuela. His parents were immigrants from Italy.
He was part of a group of writers called "Grupo Viernes" (Friday Group). He published many books of poetry throughout his life. Later, many of his works were published by a company called Monte Ávila Editores.

In 1984, the University of Carabobo gave him an honorary doctorate. This is a special degree given to someone to honor their achievements. In 1986, a publisher called Biblioteca Ayacucho released a collection of all his poems, titled Obra Poética.
