Victor Heflin, born on July 7, 1960, is a former American football player. He played as a cornerback in the National Football League (NFL) for two seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals. The Denver Broncos picked him in the 1983 NFL draft. He also played college football at Delaware State University.

Early Life and College Football

Growing Up and High School

Victor Heflin was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, on July 7, 1960. He grew up and went to Wayne High School in Huber Heights, Ohio.

Playing for Delaware State

From 1979 to 1982, Victor played college football for the Delaware State Hornets. He was a very good player. In 1982, he caught more interceptions than anyone else on his team. Because of his great playing, he was added to Delaware State's sports hall of fame in 2010.

Professional Football Career

Joining the NFL Draft

In 1983, Victor Heflin was chosen by the Denver Broncos in the 1983 NFL draft. He was the 143rd player picked overall, in the sixth round. He officially signed his contract with the Broncos on May 11, 1983. However, he was released by the team on August 23, 1983, before the season started.

Playing for the St. Louis Cardinals

Victor then signed with the St. Louis Cardinals on October 27, 1983. He played in eight games for the Cardinals during the 1983 season. The next year, in 1984, he played in all 16 games for the team. During that season, he made one interception. The Cardinals released him on August 26, 1985.

Time with the Miami Dolphins

On April 1, 1986, Victor Heflin signed with the Miami Dolphins. However, his time with the Dolphins was short. He was released by the team on May 7, 1986.

Family Life

Victor Heflin has a brother named Vince Heflin. Vince also played in the NFL.
