Early Life and Background
Victoria Kjær Theilvig grew up in Herlev, a town near Copenhagen, Denmark. She studied business and marketing at a school called Lyngby Handelsgymnasium. Journey in Pageants
Starting Her Pageant Career
Victoria Kjær Theilvig began her journey in beauty pageants by joining Miss Denmark 2021. In this competition, she placed as the second runner-up. In 2022, she was chosen as Miss Grand Denmark. This allowed her to compete in the Miss Grand International 2022 pageant, where she made it into the top 20 finalists.
Winning Miss Universe 2024
In 2024, Victoria was selected to be Miss Universe Denmark. This happened after the original winner of Miss Denmark 2024 decided not to compete at Miss Universe 2024.
As Miss Universe Denmark, Victoria Kjær Theilvig competed in the Miss Universe 2024 pageant. The event took place on November 16 in Mexico City. Victoria won the competition, becoming the first Danish woman to be crowned Miss Universe. She was also the first blonde winner since Jennifer Hawkins won in 2004. Victoria is the second Danish woman to win one of the "big four" international beauty pageants. The first was Catharina Svensson, who won Miss Earth in 2001.
During the competition, Victoria wore a special national costume. It looked like a Viking warrior goddess, with red and gold decorations. She also answered questions from the judges. In one round, she was asked what she would change about her life if she knew no one would judge her. She said she wouldn't change anything and would always stay positive. In another round, she shared a message about being strong and believing in yourself.
At the end of the event, Sheynnis Palacios from Nicaragua, the previous Miss Universe, crowned Victoria Kjær Theilvig as the new Miss Universe 2024. Victoria was the first winner to wear the new "Light of Infinity" golden pearl crown.
As Miss Universe, Victoria Kjær Theilvig has traveled to many countries. These include Mexico, the United States, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, India, Puerto Rico, the Netherlands, the Philippines, and her home country of Denmark.
