How Vincentown Got Its Name
In 1743, a man named Vincent Leeds bought the land where Vincentown now stands. The community was later named "Vincent's Town" after him.
Old Name: Brimstone Neck
Before it was called Vincent's Town, the area had a different name: Brimstone Neck.
Vincentown Historic District
The Vincentown Historic District is a special area that protects old and important buildings. It covers about 92 acres. This district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.
