Vineyard is a city located in Utah County, Utah, in the United States. It's part of the larger Provo and Orem city area. Vineyard has grown incredibly fast! Its population jumped from just 139 people in 2010 to over 12,500 by 2020. This makes it one of the fastest-growing cities in Utah and the entire country.
This rapid growth started around 2012. It happened because a large area, once home to the Geneva Steel factory, was redeveloped. This new development brought many new homes and people to Vineyard.

Discovering Vineyard's Past
Vineyard got its name from the grape vineyards that used to grow near where the town was first built. Some people who lived there say that Vineyard became a recognized place in 1899.
The town officially became incorporated in 1989. This means it gained its own local government. Before 2016, Vineyard was called a "town." But in the summer of 2016, its population grew enough for it to be certified as a "city."
The huge growth since 2012 is mainly due to the redevelopment of the old Geneva Steel site. In 2014, Utah Valley University bought 125 acres of this land. They plan to build a new "West Campus" there.
