Virgil Tracy is the second son of Jeff Tracy, who started International Rescue. Virgil is named after a real-life astronaut, Gus Grissom. In the Thunderbirds world, Virgil is usually 24 years old. He studied at the Denver School of Advanced Technology.
Virgil's main job is piloting Thunderbird 2. This large green aircraft carries all the heavy rescue equipment. He is also skilled at using this equipment to help people in danger. Sometimes, Virgil even flies other Thunderbird vehicles. For example, he once piloted Thunderbird 3 to help fix a communication problem.
Virgil's Dedication and Hobbies
Virgil is very committed to his rescue work. In one episode, Terror in New York City, Thunderbird 2 was damaged. Even though Virgil was hurt, he worried most about his aircraft being out of service. His father, Jeff, even had to tell him to rest.
When he's not on a mission, Virgil is much calmer than his brothers. He enjoys painting and playing the piano. These hobbies show his artistic and peaceful side.
