Scott's Life Story
Scott Tracy is the oldest son of Jeff Tracy, who started and funded International Rescue. Scott was named after the real-life American astronaut Scott Carpenter.
While the exact details vary, some stories say Scott was born around the year 2000 or 2039, making him about 26 years old during the show.
Scott went to Yale and Oxford Universities. He was honored for his bravery while serving in the United States Air Force. After that, he joined International Rescue.
Scott's Role in International Rescue
As the pilot of Thunderbird 1, Scott is usually the first to arrive at a disaster scene. He often acts as the leader for rescue missions on the ground.
Scott also helps out as a co-pilot for the spacecraft Thunderbird 3. Sometimes, he even takes a turn watching over the Thunderbird 5 space station. When his father, Jeff, is away, Scott takes charge of the organization from Tracy Island.
Scott is known for keeping a cool head, even in tough situations. He thinks quickly, especially when International Rescue's safety is at risk. As the oldest brother, he naturally takes on a leadership role during operations. Even though their work is secret, Scott often works with police, rescue teams, and other groups who ask for International Rescue's help.
Behind the Character
The look of Scott Tracy was inspired by the actor Sean Connery.
Scott, along with his father Jeff and brother Virgil, appears in almost all 32 episodes of Thunderbirds. He is not actively involved in the rescue in "The Perils of Penelope" and "Atlantic Inferno," where he was temporarily in command of International Rescue.
The voice for Scott in the original series was provided by Shane Rimmer.
Scott Tracy in the Live-Action Film
In the 2004 Thunderbirds movie, Scott Tracy was played by actor Philip Winchester. The movie mainly focused on Alan Tracy, so not much is known about Scott's character in that version.
Scott Tracy in the Remake Series
In the 2015 TV series Thunderbirds Are Go!, Scott is voiced by Rasmus Hardiker. He is still the oldest and most experienced Tracy brother. Scott is very bold and fearless when he is on a mission. He continues to be the team leader. However, this version of Scott can also get angry quickly, especially if a family member is in danger because of a mistake.
