Vjekoslav Bevanda (born 13 May 1956) is a Bosnian Croat politician. He held a very important role as the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2012 to 2015. This position is similar to a prime minister for the whole country.
After that, he became the Minister of Finance and Treasury. He held this job from 2015 until 2023. Bevanda also served as the acting Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for a short time in 2009. From 2007 to 2011, he was the Federal Minister of Finance. He is a member of the Croatian Democratic Union political party.

Early Life and Education
Vjekoslav Bevanda was born in Mostar, which was then part of Yugoslavia, on 13 May 1956. He went to primary school and high school in his hometown. After finishing high school, he studied at the University Džemal Bijedić of Mostar. In 1979, he graduated with a degree in economics.
Early Career Before Politics
Before he started his political career, Bevanda worked in different jobs. From 1979 to 1989, he worked for an aircraft company called "SOKO" in Mostar. Later, from 1990 to 1993, he worked for "APRO" bank, also in Mostar.
He then worked for "Euro Center" in Split from 2000 to 2001. After that, from 2001 to 2007, he was a director at "Commerce Bank" in Sarajevo. These jobs helped him gain experience in finance and management.
Political Career Highlights
Vjekoslav Bevanda became a member of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ BiH) political party. His first major political role was as the Federal Minister of Finance. He held this position from March 2007 to March 2011. During this time, he was also the Vice President of the Federal Government.
On 27 May 2009, Bevanda was named the acting Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This happened after the previous prime minister resigned. He served in this temporary role until 25 June 2009.
After a period where it was difficult to form a new government, Bevanda was chosen for a very important job. On 12 January 2012, he became the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He led a government made up of six different political parties, including his own. He served as Chairman until 31 March 2015.
On 31 March 2015, Bevanda took on another key role. He was appointed as the new Minister of Finance and Treasury. He worked in the government led by Denis Zvizdić. He continued in this role when Zoran Tegeltija became the prime minister. Bevanda's time as Minister of Finance and Treasury ended on 25 January 2023.
Personal Life and Family
Vjekoslav Bevanda is married to Ljiljana Bevanda. They have two daughters together.
