Vladimir Štimac (Serbian: Владимир Штимац) is a Serbian former professional basketball player. He was born on August 25, 1987. He played as a center, which is a position usually for tall players. Štimac is 2.11 meters (about 6 feet 11 inches) tall. He also played for the Serbian national team in international games. After his basketball career, he became involved in politics.

Vladimir Štimac's Basketball Journey

Vladimir Štimac started playing basketball with the youth team of Beovuk 72. He then spent some years playing in other countries like Lithuania and Latvia.

Early Career and Moving Abroad

  • He played for the reserve team of Žalgiris in Lithuania.
  • Later, he joined their main team.
  • To get more playing time, he moved to Valmiera in Latvia.
  • At Valmiera, he was chosen as the best player in the SEB BBL for the 2007–08 season.

Playing for Different Teams

Štimac played for many teams throughout his career.

  • In 2010, he played for the Orlando Magic in a summer league.
  • He signed with Ventspils in Latvia, then moved to Nymburk in the Czech Republic.

  • He then played for Banvit in Turkey.
  • From 2013 to 2014, he played for Unicaja Málaga in Spain.
  • He also played for Bayern Munich in Germany.
  • In 2015, he briefly played for Estudiantes in Spain before returning to Crvena zvezda in Serbia.
  • He continued his career in Turkey with Beşiktaş and Anadolu Efes.
  • In 2018, he joined Türk Telekom.
  • In 2019, he played for Fenerbahçe, a big team in Turkey.
  • He returned to Crvena zvezda again in late 2019.
  • Later, he played for teams in China, like the Qingdao Eagles and Ningbo Rockets.
  • In China, he had an amazing game with 40 points and 17 rebounds in December 2021.
  • He also played for Bahçeşehir Koleji in Turkey.
  • His career ended in 2023 after playing for Sigortam.net İTÜ BB and Guangxi Rhinos.

Playing for Serbia's National Team

Vladimir Štimac proudly represented his country, Serbia, in many important basketball competitions.
