Playing for Red Star Belgrade
Vladimir Jugović was discovered by Red Star Belgrade when he was just 15 years old. He first played for Red Star, then went on loan to another team called FK Rad for a short time. When a new coach, Ljupko Petrović, joined Red Star, Jugović became a regular player in the team.
In 1991, Jugović played in the 1991 European Cup Final, which Red Star won. This was a huge victory for the club. Later that year, he also helped Red Star win the Intercontinental Cup. In that match, Red Star beat Colo-Colo 3–0, and Jugović scored the first two goals! He became a very celebrated player for Red Star.
Time at Sampdoria
After his success with Red Star, Jugović moved to Italy to play for Sampdoria. He played there for three successful seasons. During his time at Sampdoria, he helped the team win the 1993–94 Coppa Italia, which is Italy's main cup competition. He scored two goals in a big semi-final match against Arsenal in 1995.
Winning with Juventus
In 1995, Jugović joined Juventus, another big Italian club. In his first season, Juventus finished second in the Italian league. He played a key role in the 1996 UEFA Champions League Final against Ajax. The game was tied, and it went to a penalty shootout. Jugović scored the winning penalty kick for Juventus!
After this big win, Jugović stayed with Juventus for another season. He helped them win the 1996 Intercontinental Cup by beating River Plate 1–0. That same season, Juventus also won the 1996–97 Serie A title, which is the top Italian league. He played 77 games for Juventus and scored 10 goals.
Later Career Teams
After leaving Juventus, Jugović joined Lazio in 1997. He played there for one season and won his second Coppa Italia trophy. Lazio also reached the final of the 1998 UEFA Cup Final that year.
He then moved to Atlético Madrid in Spain for the 1998–99 season. The next year, he returned to Italy to play for Inter Milan for two seasons. Vladimir Jugović finished his professional playing career at LR Ahlen in Germany in 2005, after also playing for AS Monaco FC in France and Admira Wacker in Austria.

He made his first appearance for the Yugoslavia national team in August 1991. He was chosen to play in the UEFA Euro 1992 tournament, but Yugoslavia was not allowed to play due to political reasons at the time.
Jugović played as a left winger for the national team for a long time. He played in every match for Yugoslavia at the 1998 FIFA World Cup. He also played in the UEFA Euro 2000 tournament, where he was used as a central midfielder. He played 41 international games for his country and scored three goals.
